Mesut Ozil makes decision about Arsenal future – report
Mesut Ozil will remain at Arsenal until his contract expires in 2021, according to a report in England.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Gunners midfielder won’t be leaving the north London side at the end of the season.
The same article states that Ozil is eager to remain at Arsenal on his current deal for the forseeable future.
According to the same story, Arsenal manager Unai Emery was thought to be ready to sell Ozil in the summer transfer window.
The Daily Mirror appears to hint that Emery’s stance may have changed in recent weeks given the German’s inclusion in first-team affairs.
Heading into the final round of Premier League fixtures, Ozil had started nine games since the beginning of April to suggest the World Cup winner is back in favour at the north London club.
The Arsenal star has scored five goals and has made two assists in 25 games in the Premier League this season.
Ozil has also contributed one goal and one assist in nine Europa League fixtures in the current campaign.
The Gunners star signed a £350,000-a-week deal that will run until the end of the 2020-21 season back in February 2018.
Ozil has won the FA Cup three times since his move to Arsenal in a £42.5m deal from La Liga giants Real Madrid back in September 2013.
