Since July 2018 Single touch payroll has become mandatory for all employers as the Australian government has passed the legislation about that step. Now single touch payroll or STP has become a required element for employers to upgrade or replace their payroll system to meet with their payroll reporting obligations. In general, STP is an ATO compliance regulation obligates employers to send employee payroll information along with the standard pay run to the ATO. That payroll information should consist of salary, wages, PAYG withholding, and superannuation as well.
