Youtuber James Charles goes into hiding after losing nearly 3 million followers including Kim Kardashian
YOUTUBER James Charles has gone into hiding after losing nearly three million followers including Kim Kardashian.
The 19-year-old beauty vlogger has reportedly “gone into hiding”, after fellow online star Tati Westbrook released a video slamming teen – and accused him of taking advantage of others.
James was last seen at a fan event at Gold Coast’s Pacific Fair Shopping Centre in Australia on Saturday.
He has remained silent on social media since then, with a source telling Daily Mail Australia: “It’s like he has just disappeared and gone into hiding.
“There’s a huge price on his head for any photos right now.”
James has amassed nearly 16 million followers in just a few years and found global success thanks to his YouTube videos and tutorials.
But his popularity hit the skids this week after Tati, 37, released a video accusing James of being driven by money and fame.
He has now lost Kim Kardashian as a follower, as well as her half-sister Kylie Jenner, and numerous other celebrities including Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry and Iggy Azalea.
Tati blasted: “Fame, power, and a fat bank account will change almost anyone.
“And if you don’t have people that will tell you to your face that you’re doing the wrong things, you will change.
She also accused him of making inappropriate comments to a straight waiter.
James responded with a YouTube video and was very emotional as he said sorry.

He started: “I owe everybody an explanation and I owe two people an apology.
“I’m sorry for everything that is going on everything and I’ve put you through over the past three weeks.”
The star continued: “Throughout all of this there’s nothing I can say or do to earn that trust back (from Tati and her husband) but I don’t blame them for it.”
And addressing the situation with the waiter he said: “I’ve learned the hard way about the ways I can interact with boys this is a conversation I should have been far more careful bringing into the public eye.
“She (Tati) told me how it looked from the outside, she said talking to these boys might get you in trouble one day, and she was right.”
