Invincible setting the pace. By Gerry Byrne
The CLYC cruiser racing programme is underway with twenty six races scheduled for the Early Season Series. Currently leading the fleet in NHC and CPH handicaps is Mick McCann’s Invincible which took advantage of the absent Warrior in last Saturday’s races.
The Blues on the Bay Open Regatta takes place on Saturday 25-May-19 and is the first of nine open events scheduled for this year. A fleet of ten cruisers is expected to compete over four races for the coveted Blues on the Bay Cup.
Favourites must be Warrior who have won the title the last three years since 2015 and no doubt, skipper Tim Gibbons will be pushing his crew for a fourth consecutive win.
The Blues on the Bay Open Regatta welcomes all cruisers, and entry is free. See CLYC Killowen on Facebook for details and the on-line Entry Form

Catherine McDonagh and Connla Conway set the course for 2 races in perfect conditions, with sunshine added. The Cranleys and Stephen Finnegan had a collision after the end of Race 2, but the exciting finish made up for it.
The best B-fleet sailor was Izzy O’Farrell, followed by Maya O’Neill and Molly McDonagh.
Podium places were as follows:
Ulster Savings Cup I: Stephen Finnegan
Ulster Savings Cup II: Kieran & Brian Cranley
