Mark Patterson Released From Hospital
Algarve Pro Racing driver Mark Patterson has been released from hospital following his off in the wet during Wednesday’s pre-event ELMS test.
He was released from hospital before the weekend proper and will rest at his hotel before flying home later this week. Patterson sustained pelvic fractures from the impact.
Inter Europol’s Leo Roussel meanwhile, who was hurt in a single-car incident during Free Practice 2 at Parabolica, driving the Polish team’s Ligier JS P217, remains in hospital in Milan. He is set to have surgery in the next 24 hours on a fractured vertebra.
He too is expected to be released from hospital by the end of the week.
Neither driver is currently expected to be fit for next month’s Le Mans 24 Hours. Both Algarve Pro and Inter Europol are therfore now involved in a search for replacement drivers.
DSC of course wishes both Mark and Leo all the best for rapid and full recoveries.
