Game of Thrones episode 6 spoilers: Fiery aftermath of the Last Battle revealed as the survivors prepare for final showdown

THE trailer for the final episode of Game of Thrones has revealed a surprising twist.

Fans of the fantasy epic have long hoped for a final showdown with Daenerys Targaryen fighting for the Iron Throne – but in the aftermath of the fiery Last Battle everything has changed.

Season 8 episode 5 ‘The Bells’ saw The Dragon Queen (Emilia Clarke) burn King’s Landing to the ground – killing thousands of innocent men, women and children.

Jon Snow (Kit Harrington), Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) and Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) could only look on in horror as the Breaker of Chains turned Mad Queen.

Now a short teraser for episode 6 shows Daenerys walking through the burned ruins of King’s Landing.

Meanwhile, her army, Tyrion and Arya look on.

Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys, previously said that the last ever episode is bound to leave some fans disappointed.

“People will scream and people will say, ‘That’s exactly what I wanted’,” she said.

“And some people will go, ‘Huh?’ – my mum, probably.”
