Man City’s talisman Zinchenko finishes title-winning season with incredible 100 per cent record
OLEKSANDR ZINCHENKO managed to maintain his incredible 100 per cent Premier League record in Manchester City’s title-winning season.
The 22-year-old, who joined the club in 2016, has won all 22 of the league games that he has played for Pep Guardiola’s side.
Zinchenko was named in the starting XI for the 4-1 win over Brighton that secured the silverware for the second year running.
Goals from Sergio Aguero, Aymeric Laporte, Riyad Mahrez and Ilkay Gundogan sealed the deal for the Blues.
They had to win all of their final Premier League to ensure Liverpool did not snatch the Premier League title from their grasp.
So of course, Pep Guardiola decided to play his lucky charm in every match.
Zinchenko is the only player in the league to have a 100 per cent winning record in more than five games.
The 22-cap Ukraine international joined the Premier League giants from Ufa for just £1.7million.
He arrived at the Etihad primarily as an attacking midfielder, but he has deployed as a left back in recent months.
Zinchenko proved his potential when he was called in to provide cover for injured Benjamin Mendy and Fabian Delph.
He has made 14 starts for Guardiola’s side this season – who retained their title with 32 wins from 38 games.
