Prince Harry leaving Archie and Meghan Markle to go abroad for a SECOND trip just weeks after the birth
PRINCE Harry will leave behind baby Archie and wife Meghan Markle to go abroad for a second time just weeks after his son was born.
The Duke of Sussex, 34, is heading to Rome on Friday May 24 to take part in the Sentebale ISPS Handa Polo Cup.
The charity match will help raise funds and awareness for Sentebale, which supports thousands of youth affected by HIV in Lesotho, Botswana and Malawi.
Prince Harry is a patron of the charity, which was founded by The Duke and Prince Seeiso in 2006 to help protect young people and children in southern Africa.
The duke’s first child Archie Harrison was born on Monday May 6, and Harry jetted off to the Netherlands just three days after the birth.
The trip, which saw him fly home later in the day, took place on Thursday May 9 and the royal helped to launch the one-year countdown to the Invictus Games 2020 at the Hague – a sporting event he created.
This trip to Rome will be the second overseas trip in under three weeks, despite Harry saying he would take a full two weeks paternity leave to “prove he’s a modern dad.”
During his Italian visit, Harry will play on the Sentebale St. Regis team captained by Sentebale Ambassador Nacho Figueras, against a U.S. Polo Assn team that will be captained by Malcolm Borwick.
Prince Harry was also pictured at the Royal Windsor Horse Show in the grounds of Windsor Castle with the Queen on Saturday.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex presented their baby to the world on Wednesday April 8, and Harry looked the picture of happiness.
The father gushed: “Parenting is amazing. It’s only been two and a half days, three days, but we’re just so thrilled to have our own little bundle of joy and be able to spend some precious times with him as he slowly, slowly starts to grow up.”
The royal is said to be keen to share the parenting load with Meghan, despite his calendar of engagements, and the palace confirmed he is changing Archie’s nappies.
Baby Archie still hasn’t met some of his nearest relatives including Charles, Camilla, Wills and Kate.
Archie Harrison was born at 5.26am on Monday morning, but a week later the seventh in line to the throne still hasn’t had visits from his aunt, uncle, and grandfather.
Wills and Kate previously said they “couldn’t wait to meet” their new nephew.
Harry and Meghan introduced Archie to the Queen and Prince Philip on Wednesday.
The historic picture, taken by their wedding photographer Chris Allerton, also showed Meghan’s mum Doria Ragland.
She was the first to meet baby Archie as she’s been staying with them at Frogmore Cottage and accompanied them to the Portland hospital last Sunday.
