Jeremy Kyle show branded ‘vile’ by comedian Kathy Burke who says she ‘hopes it’s the end’ after guest dies shortly after filming
COMEDIAN Kathy Burke has branded The Jeremy Kyle Show as “vile” and says she “hopes it’s the end” after a guest died shortly after filming.
The ITV show was pulled off air and suspended indefinitely following the shock death.
Bosses said an internal review is being held to establish whether filming on future episodes will continue.
Kathy – known for being in Absolutely Fabulous and French and Saunders – made her feelings clear after hearing about the show’s suspension.
“Hope it’s the end of that vile, Kyle show,” she said.
Many of her Twitter followers agreed, and shared their views on the shock axe.
One said: “Absolutely despise that show. Parading people on national TV so they can be laughed at and humiliated.
“Regardless of the support and help Kyle etc will say they give people, they shouldn’t have to go through the most public of humiliations to get that help.”
Another added: “Awful programme. Banned in my house.”
Someone else said: “How many thousands of hours have people wasted in their lives watching that rubbish. Frightening thought!!!”
Jeremy Kyle was replaced with an episode of Dickinson’s Real Deal in the show’s usual slot this morning.
Channel bosses are said to be frantically rearranging their plans for the coming weeks.
A celebrity special starring former EastEnders actress Danniella Westbrook and X Factor singer Christopher Maloney was due to air tomorrow, but has now been put on hold.
But the pair both reassured fans of the show it will be back on their screens soon.
Danniella said: “I’ve just been informed # ITVJeremyKyle will now not be airing tomorrow.
“Im hoping you guys get to see it at a later date but catch me on @ loosewomen tomorrow”.

Jeremy signed up to ITV in 2005 and is now on a £2million a year deal to front the talk show alongside documentaries.
His flagship series is one of the most popular programmes on ITV’s daytime schedules with around one million viewers tuning in every day.
Thousands have been fans were left disappointed this morning when they tuned in at 9.25am to find The Jeremy Kyle show had been pulled.
ITV have even scrapped old episodes off the ITV hub.
The Jeremy Kyle Show’s official Twitter page has yet to update its 390,000 followers on the suspension.
