Days after creation of new emirates, Kano district head resigns
Barely a week after Kano governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, signed into law a bill for the creation of four new emirates, Haruna Sanusi, district head of Bebeji local government area of the state, resigned his appointment.
Reports claimed that Sanusi disclosed that his decision was based on health ground and changes in the emirate system.
The district head, who holds the title of Dan Galadiman Kano, announced his resignation in a letter to secretary to the state government, dated May 10.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Kano airport was taken over by supporters of the embattled emir of the state, Lamido Sanusi, as the monarch returned from London.
Sanusi’s return was described as triumphant in the face of the controversial splitting of his emirate into five by the state government headed by Abdullahi Ganduje.
The report added that hundreds of residents of the state headed to the airport in the afternoon of Sunday, May 12, in solidarity march for the emir.
Recall that Legit.ng reported that four leading Islamic clerics in Kano state resigned from the administration of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.
According to the reports, the clerics include commander-general of Hisbah, Aminu Daurawa; chairman of Kano state Pilgrims Board, Abba Koki.

The two others are Abubakar Kandahar, permanent commissioner I at Shariah Implementation Agency, and permanent commissioner II at Zakkah and Hubsi commission, Nazifi Inuwa.
Daurawa who is one of the very few clerics who condemned the governor’s bribe-taking videos during his sermons, said his decision is personal.
“The resignation is based on personal reasons,” Messrs Daurawa, Kandahar and Inuwa said in their letters, citing personal commitments that coincide with the demands of the office. Koki cited health ground and personal commitments as reasons for his resignation.
