Impressive camera tech means you’ll never scratch your wheels on the kerb again

NEW camera technology which makes your bonnet “see-through” will help you navigate the tightest parking spaces.

And it means you’ll never damage your wheels on the kerb again.

The world-first technology developed by Jaguar Land Rover allows you to see through your bonnet to help navigate tight parking spaces, kerbs and difficult terrain.

Using cameras in the front grille and side mirrors, drivers can get a live feed of what’s happening beneath the car on its display screen.

Known as ClearSight Ground View, the system also clearly outlines the contours of different terrain, meaning drivers can watch out for obstacles.

You can even get a 180-degree view of the road when travelling up to 18mph, according to the automaker.

Alex Heslop, director of electronics and software at Jaguar Land Rover, said: “We have effectively made the bonnet of the new Range Rover Evoque see-through with our ClearSight Ground View technology.

“Turning this concept into reality shows the commitment and creativity that has helped us make the original compact luxury SUV better than ever.”

Jaguar Land Rover also started trialling new technology that will allow drivers to earn cryptocurrency as they drive.

Owners will be able to collect credits by reporting dangerous potholes and heavy traffic.
