Tottenham played out a 2-2 draw against Everton yesterday at the new stadium in what was the club’s final Premier League game of the season. The effort meant that Spurs had sealed the fourth spot in the Premier League and as a result, secured Champions League qualification for the fourth consecutive season.

Eric Dier, who started at the heart of defence due to the injuries to Jan Vertonghen and Davinson Sanchez, along with the suspension of Juan Foyth, scored the opener early in the game after he pounced on a loose ball inside the box from a corner, to slam it home.

Spurs had opportunities to extend their lead but were wasteful in the final third as they went into the half-time interval a goal to the good.
