Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 5 Discussion
A spot to discuss the fiery pre-finale finale.
If I go back and rewatch the show, I'll be looking to see if Dany's turn makes more sense in retrospective. I'm skeptical, but I'll admit I haven't been watching the show as closely as I used to. This episode felt more than a bit perverse and disturbed without a strong lever to turn Dany to what she did. We just watched Winterfell, did we really need to watch an entire city burned alive to satisfy the showrunners craving for subverted expectations?
Still looking forward to next Sunday. I'm not sure if no expectations will be helpful or harmful to the shows designs, but that's all I got.
