Vermont renames Columbus Day

MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - Vermont has joined a handful of states in renaming Columbus Day to honor Native Americans.

Republican Gov. Phil Scott signed a bill into law on Friday recognizing the second Monday in October as Indigenous Peoples' Day.
