Sick stepdad, 63, claims he sexually abused disabled stepson ‘because his wife wasn’t putting out’

A STEPDAD who sexually abused his intellectually disabled son has justified his vile acts, saying the boys’ mother didn’t “put out” enough.

The 63-year-old man performed sex acts on the then-teenager, who had the intellectual capacity of a seven-year-old.

The sordid events were said to have taken place in 1991 in the family’s Palmerston home in regional country Australia.

A Northern Territory court heard the man was confronted by his wife, years after the abuse.

He responded: “What do you want me to do, it can’t be undone”.

During one of the attacks, the teen pleaded: “Please dad, stop”.

Other attacks were witnessed by the boy’s sister.

What do you want me to do, it can’t be undone”.

Convicted child molester

The court heard the distraught teen tried to end his life, the NT News reported.

The stepfather, who cannot be named, pleaded guilty to twice performing an act of gross indecency on a male in private.

Defence lawyer, Peter Maley, said the man continued to live with his stepson for 23 years until his marriage to the teen’s mother broke down.

Mr Maley said his client wasn’t a risk to the community, and now lived a quiet life working at the popular home improvement and DIY store Bunnings.

He told the court: “He had to tell his employers and work colleagues, they’re like family, and that itself was a very difficult process.

“He says Bunnings keeps him alive, they’re like family.

“He says it’s the most humiliating day of his life.

“He had to tell his employers and work colleagues, they’re like family, and that itself was a very difficult process.”

However, Chief Justice Michael Grant said the sexual assault of children were “abhorrent crimes which cause great disquiet in the community”.

The attacks were said to have a devastating affect on the lives of the teen, his sister, and the teen’s mother.

The man was sentenced to two years jail, suspended immediately.
