Stones sign Ibrahim Olutade
Ibrahim Olutade has become Maidstone United’s second signing of the summer.
The striker scored 13 goals for Leatherhead after joining the Bostik Premier side last November. It was his performance against the Tanners – for Hanwell Town in the FA Cup – that ignited interest in the 20-year-old.
After departing Fetcham Grove yesterday, he was at the Gallagher this afternoon to put pen to paper on a two-year deal.
Ibrahim said: “When John and Hakan said they were interested I was really chuffed. I am delighted to sign and excited to be a Maidstone player.
“The hard work starts now and look forward to showing the fans what I can do.”
In the last year, Ibrahim has risen up the leagues and picked up an international call up too.
He said: “After the FA Cup game, Leatherhead put in a seven-day approach and as much I loved playing for Hanwell under Chris Moore and Wayne Carter – I spoke to family and friends and decided I really wanted to test myself at a higher level.
“Nikki, Macca and the fans welcomed me at Leatherhead and I managed to score on my debut. Since then I kicked on and represented England with an FA rep team. I went to the Falklands with Paul Fairclough and it was a great experience for me.”
The latest signing follows that of defender Lewis Knight on Friday.
