Opposition MP 'worried' over polarization between Artsakh and Armenia
Any contraposition between Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) and Armenia is full of challenges and hazards - whether in the context of a revolution or a counter-revolution, an opposition MP from the Bright Armenia party said today, commenting on the prime minister's recent statement on Facebook.
''A contraposition of Artsakh with Armenia is fraught with very serious consequences. That's something the leadership[s] of both Armenia and Artsakh have to realize,'' Gevorg Gorgisyan told reporters at the National Assembly.
Emphasizing the importance of mutual respect, the politician nevertheless did not rule out a counter-revolutionary scenario in the second Armenian republic.
''Nothing can be ruled out in politics, but even if the worst-case scenario applies and [former President] Robert Kocharyan comes to power, Armenia and Artsakh must be united as one powerful fist to serve the interests of the peoples in Armenia and Artsakh,'' he added.
