White Dee defends the Jeremy Kyle show after backlash following death of guest
WHITE Dee defended The Jeremy Kyle Show and said her experience was positive after it was pulled from ITV “indefinitely” today following a guest’s death.
The Benefits Street star said the controversial chat show host treated her “with respect” and praised the aftercare she received when the cameras stopped rolling.
Her comments come after The Sun revealed the long-running ITV programme had been suspended after a guest died shortly after filming.
Bosses at ITV today told us the episode will never be screened and filming on future episodes has been halted pending an internal review.
Celebrities including Kathy Burke were quick to champion the decision and claimed the show should be pulled from the air for good.
But White Dee – who appeared on the show earlier this year – stuck up for host Jeremy and the care provided by the show.
She told Birmingham Live: “I don’t know the circumstances surrounding the death but I am shocked and saddened to hear a Jeremy Kyle guest has died.
“I went onto the show earlier this year and I can’t criticise producers in any way.
“They talked me through absolutely everything before the show, asked me what I wanted to talk about and asked me what i didn’t want to talk about.”
She added: “I was really nervous in the moments leading up to meeting Jeremy but he treated me with respect.
