Jeremy Kyle show taken off air following death of guest

Britain’s controversial TV programme The Jeremy Kyle Show has been suspended indefinitely following the death of a guest who appeared on the show.

The popular talk show, which launched in 2005 as a British equivalent to the USA’s Jerry Springer show, was taken off ITV’s schedules following the incident. 

“Everyone at ITV and The Jeremy Kyle Show is shocked and saddened at the news of the death of a participant in the show a week after the recording of the episode they featured in and our thoughts are with their family and friends,” an ITV spokesperson said.

The episode which the participant appeared in will not be aired, the spokesperson added. The station has now ordered a review of the episode due to the “seriousness of the event”. All filming and broadcasting of the show will be suspended while the review takes place.

The Jeremy Kyle Show features guests discussing their personal issues in front of a TV audience, often in a very animated way.
