Sen. Perdue Poo-Poos Threats To Stop Filming In GA After Extreme Abortion Law

0

Sen. David Perdue (R-GA) poo-pooed filmmakers’ threats to stop movie production in his home state after the passage of the heartbeat abortion law last week.

“Georgia does more traditional movie production than any other state including California,” Perdue said Monday on “Fox and Friends.” “A lot of infrastructure is built down there and a lot of sound stages. It’s ironic that several of these companies threatening to boycott have yet to do business in Georgia.”

Per the Washington Post, some small, independent companies have vowed not to consider Georgia for film projects in the future and some actors have signed a letter pledging to try to move their projects out of the state. Nevertheless, the biggest Hollywood studios are staying mum and actors have limited ability to control their films’ production.

Financial incentives and a geographically varied landscape make Georgia ideal for filming.
