[Baseball] No. 13 Tigers open national tournament against Grenadiers
Monday 3 pm Georgetown College baseball takes to the diamond for postseason NAIA action. It is the first time since 2014 the No. 13 Tigers (43-13) have been in the Opening Round series – a five-team, double elimination tournament.
Three top 25 schools are in the bracket – No. 4 Georgia Gwinnett College is top seed and host; No. 13 GC is second seed; and No. 24 Indiana University Southeast is the three seed. Four-seeded St. Xavier University (Ill.) is receiving votes, while the fifth seed, Union College, is in by way of winning the Appalachian pool B.
Monday's action will open with the four-five game between SXU and Union. Georgetown will take the field against IUS after the completion of game one. Georgetown swept the Grenadiers this season, winning at home, 5-1, and on the road, 4-2.
