Plutko impresses in second start for Columbus, but Clippers are one-hit in shutout loss
Cleveland Indians minor league recap for May 13, 2019
Columbus Clippers 0, Syracuse Mets 1
Box Score · Clippers fall to 20-15
Adam Plutko’s second start in his return from injury was much, much better than his first.
After lasting just 0.1 innings in a start five days ago, Plutko took a no-hitter into the fifth inning before giving up a solo home run. He finished the game with a terrific line of 5.0 innings, two hits, one run, one walk and four strikeouts.
Michael Peoples followed with four solid innings of long relief, allowing one more run on five hits with five strikeouts while walking none.
Unfortunately, those two runs were more than enough because the Columbus offense was completely baffled by Syracuse pitching. The Clippers only had one hit and a total of three baserunners in the game. No one reached base twice and the lone hit was a single.
Akron and Lynchburg’s games were postponed due to rain. Lake County had a scheduled day off.
