Arsenal could hand Ajax defender Nicolas Tagliafico mega pay-day if they seal transfer next summer due to bizarre contract clause
ARSENAL target Nicolas Tagliafico could be set for a massive pay-day due to a quirk in his Ajax contract.
Argentine Tagliafico, 26, has agreed to remain at the Amsterdam Arena after a fairytale run to the Champions League semi-final this season.

But a new clause in the defender’s deal with the Dutch club could see his pockets lined by the Premier League giants.
According to reports, Tagliafico will have a release clause of £17.3million and any amount above that figure will be split between player and club.
That will see a massive profit on the £3.47m Ajax paid Independiente for him in January last year.
The Gunners identified Tagliafico as a summer target to strengthen Unai Emery’s back four ahead of the next campaign.
However, Arsenal will face a fight to lure the left-back to London.
According to his agent Ricardo Schlieper, Tagliafico would rather a move to Italy over England.
He told FC Inter News: “Inter and Italian football are always attractive destinations for Argentine players.

“Let’s not forget, like it was once said, that we’re Italians who speak Spanish.
“Everything’s very familiar. It’s like being at home.
“Tagliafico has always been our priority for Italy, but in the most appropriate moment we will find the right place. We will see what happens.”
