Renee Zellweger is an evil seductress with an indecent proposal in Netflix’s ‘What/If’ trailer [WATCH]

2019 is the Year of the Reneessance. Less than a week after the first trailer for her Judy Garland biopic “Judy” was released, the first trailer for Renee Zellweger‘s Netflix limited series “What/If” is here. And she has an offer you can’t refuse. Or Jane Levy and Blake Jenner can’t.

From Mike Kelley (“Revenge”), the sudsy anthology thriller stars Zellweger as Anne Montgomery, a mysterious, high-powered woman who makes an indecent proposal to cash-strapped newlyweds played by Levy and Jenner: Let me sleep with your husband and I’ll finance your company.

You can probably surmise that they take her up on that, and well, sh– of course hits the fan. “What is it you imagine I did to him,” Anne taunts Levy’s character. That’s nothing compared to the last seconds of the trailer when Anne shoots an arrow at her head.

Zellweger is channeling her best sultry femme fatale here that will give you “Sharon Stone in ‘Basic Instinct'” vibes. The show is leaning more populist than prestige, but we are here for this entire Zellweger comeback. This is also Zellweger’s first foray into TV since lending her voice to “King of the Hill” 18 years ago.

All 10 episodes of “What/If” will be released Friday, May 24, which means it’s Emmy eligible. Designed as an anthology series, any future seasons of “What/If” will tackle, per the logline, “a different morality tale inspired by culturally consequential source material, and the power of a single fateful decision to change the trajectory of an entire life.”
