President Jimmy Carter fell at his home in Plains, Ga., on Monday and incurred a hip injury that required surgical repair, according to the Carter Center at Emory University in Atlanta. The 94-year-old former president's surgeon at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, Ga., reportedly said the surgery had been successful, and the Carter Center statement indicated Carter was recovering comfortably with former first lady Rosalynn Carter at his side.
