Rumour: Port Vale to re-sign former player?
A report in the Stoke Sentinel says that Port Vale manager John Askey is interested in former Valiant Ryan Lloyd.
Lloyd progressed through the junior ranks at Vale Park but struggled to make his mark as a professional, making just eighteen appearances in seven seasons as a professional player. However, as a youth team player he was rated so highly that he had a trial with then Premier League side Fulham.
He was released in 2017 and impressed Askey who was his manager at Macclesfield Town.
According to the Sentinel, Askey is keen to sign hard-working players with good attitude. Lloyd is also a local player and may want to move back to the area.
