Inter Six Points From Champions League Football
Gazzetta dello Sport have drawn up all of the permutations for Inter to secure Champions League qualification for the second consecutive season.
Inter are in control of their own destiny, with 68 points needed to secure qualification. That is six points from the remaining three matches against Chievo, Napoli and Empoli.
That is what makes tonights match at home to Chievo so important. A win and the pressure is off ahead of the trip to Naples next weekend.
The troubling thing for Inter fans is that the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium has not been a fortress this season. Inter are are without a home win since their March 10 victory over SPAL and have had two losses and three draws in the time since. The nine home wins this season in only tied for sixth place in Serie A.
Win tonight and there is a clear path to Champions League football. Drop points and suddenly Inter will be more likely playing in the Europa League next season.
