“Bohemian Rhapsody” star Rami Malek is in talks to join Denzel Washington in Warner Bros.’ “Little Things,” an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.

John Lee Hancock is directing the film that will begin production in September. Hancock also wrote the script, and Mark Johnson is producing.

Malek would star as a young detective who teams up with a deputy sheriff on the hunt for a serial killer.

Malek most recently won an Oscar for his performance in “Bohemian Rhapsody,” which grossed over $900 million globally. His other recent credits include “Buster’s Mal Heart” and “Papillon,” and he still stars in the TV series “Mr. Robot.” Next, he will star in “The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle” and “Bond 25,” in which he is set to play the villain.

Malek is represented by Brillstein Entertainment Partners, WME and The Lede Company.

Washington most recently starred in “The Equalizer 2” and “Roman J. Israel, Esq.” He will next be seen in “The Owl in Echo Park.” Hancock’s credits include “Saving Mr. Banks,” “The Founder,” “The Blind Side” and most recently, “The Highwaymen.”

Deadline first reported the news.
