Shania Twain Joins Cast of Jeremy Camp Biopic ‘I Still Believe’
Shania Twain is joining the cast of Lionsgate’s faith-based biopic about Jeremy Camp, “I Still Believe,” the studio announced on Monday.
Along with the five-time Grammy winner, Britt Robertson (“Girlboss”), Melissa Roxburgh (“Manifest”) and Nathan Dean Parsons (“Roswell, New Mexico”) are joining the cast.
The film, to be directed by brothers Jon and Andrew Erwin, previously cast “Riverdale” actor KJ Apa to play Camp and Gary Sinise to play his father, Tom Camp. Twain will play Camp’s mother in the film.

Camp is a Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter who has sold over 5 million albums and has toured all over the world. He has received four RIAA-certified Gold albums, two American Music Awards nominations, multiple ASCAP awards, 38 No. 1 songs, a gold digital single (“There Will Be A Day”), and a multi-platinum DVD.
“I Still Believe” is meant to be an uplifting true-life story of Christian music star Jeremy Camp and his journey of love and loss that looks to prove there is always hope.
The film, being produced by Kevin Downes. begins shooting in Alabama later this month and is set to be released on March 20, 2020.

Robertson will play Camp’s love interest and wife, Melissa Henning, who is described as having sharp wit and a beautiful, joyful spirit, with a strong and sincere faith in God that guides her every decision.
She was most recently seen on the Shonda Rhimes ABC series, “For The People” and she played the title role in Netflix’s series, “Girlboss.” In 2017, she appeared in “The Space Between Us” and DreamWorks’ “A Dog’s Purpose,” starring opposite Dennis Quaid.
Roxburgh will play Melissa Henning’s older sister, Heather. Roxburgh currently stars in NBC’s series “Manifest” which was just renewed for Season 2 and was the No. 1 new fall series of 2018. She’s also had several other TV roles, including on “Supernatural,” “Arrow,” and “Legends of Tomorrow.”

Parsons will play Camp’s rock-star friend Jean-Luc La Joie, who mentors Camp while harboring feelings for Melissa.
He currently stars as Max Evans, a Roswell, New Mexico police officer, who has been concealing his unearthly abilities from the town, in The CW’s “Roswell, New Mexico.” His television credits include a series regular role on the final season of “True Blood,” as well as recurring roles on “The Originals,” “Once Upon a Time” and “Bunheads.”

The film is the Erwin brothers’ second collaboration with the studio following “I Can Only Imagine,” which grossed $83.5 million on a $7 million production budget, according to Box Office Mojo. “I Still Believe” will be the team’s first project resulting from their film and TV first-look deal with Lionsgate.
The Erwin Brothers will also direct the film from a script written by Jon Erwin and Jon Gunn.
Downes and The Erwin Brothers are producing the film under their Kingdom Studios banner.
