Ratings: ‘Idol’ Wins Another Sunday, ‘Simpsons’ Falls to All-Time Low With Season 30 Finale

“American Idol” owned another Sunday primetime last night while “The Simpsons” hit an all-time low among the key adults 18-49 demographic with the numbers its Season 30 finale put up, according to overnight Nielsen data.

ABC took first place in ratings and viewers, thanks to that steady enough “Idol,” while CBS, NBC, Fox and Spanish-language network Telemundo split a four-way tie for second in the demo.

ABC was first in ratings with a 1.0 rating/4 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and in total viewers with an average of 5.9 million, according to preliminary numbers. At 7 p.m., “America’s Funniest Home Videos” had a 1.0/5 and 5.6 million viewers. “American Idol” at 8 scored a 1.1/4 and 7.1 million viewers. At 10, the “Shark Tank” season finale received a 0.8/3 and 3.9 million viewers.

CBS, NBC, Fox and Telemundo tied for second in ratings, each with a 0.5/2. CBS was second in viewers with 5.1 million, NBC was third with 2.2 million, Telemundo was fourth in viewers with 1.4 million, and Fox was fifth with 1.19 million.

For CBS, “60 Minutes” at 7 got a 0.7/4 and 7.4 million viewers. At 8, “The Red Line” settled for a 0.4/2 and 3.9 million viewers. At 9, another episode of “The Red Line” managed a 0.3/1 and 3.4 million viewers. “NCIS: Los Angeles” at 10 took a 0.6/3 and 5.8 million viewers.

For NBC, following a broadcast of the film “The Secret Life of Pets” and an encore of “Ellen’s Game of Games,” “Good Girls” at 10 p.m. had a 0.4/2 and 2 million viewers.

For Fox, following a repeat, “The Simpsons” finale at 8 managed a 0.5/2 and 1.4 million viewers. At 8:30, “Bob’s Burgers” ended its season with a 0.6/3 and 1.4 million viewers. At 9, “Family Guy” closed its 2018-19 year with a 0.7/3 and 1.8 million viewers, it was followed by a rerun.

Univision was sixth in ratings with a 0.3/1 and in viewers with 1.18 million.

The CW was seventh in ratings with a 0.2/1 and in viewers with 832,000. At 8, “Supergirl” had a 0.3/1 and 1.1 million viewers. At 9, “Charmed” got a 0.2/1 and 652,000 viewers.
