Ioka Vs Palicte to be aired live on TBS, Kyoguchi's bout gets tape delay slot
Over the last few days we've had to report some disappointing news about Japanese TV and their lack of liver coverage for a couple of upcoming cards. Thankfully we can now officially confirm that the June 19th card, headlined by Kazuto Ioka (23-2, 13) [井岡一翔] and Aston Palicte (25-2-1, 21), will be aired live. Or rather some of it will be, some of it will end up on delay.
Unsurprisingly the Ioka Vs Palicte bout, for the WBO Super Flyweight title will be shown live in full on TBS, with the broadcast starting at 9PM local time. This isn't much of a surprise but given how things have been we did start to worry a touch.
The WBA Light Flyweight "super" title bout between defending champion Hiroto Kyoguchi (12-0, 9) [京口 紘人] and unbeaten Thai fighter Satanmuanglek CP Freshmart (11-0, 5), aka Tanawat Nakoon, has now been given it's official tape delay slot.
The bout between unbeaten men will be shown at 2 am on June 24th,with TBS suggesting this will only be shown in the Kanto region whilst Ioka will be shown nation wide. This is really disappointing news given that Kyoguchi is an exciting, hard hitting and fan friendly fighter, yet TBS don't look like they are sold on his and his potential to be a fan favourite.
At the moment we've still not been told about the Thai TV situation, but we are really hoping they will be airing the bout live.
For those in Japan, rather than those externally, Paravi will be showing both contests live.
