Steven Matz Activated From the IL

The Mets activated Steven Matz from the Injured List for today’s start. Paul Sewald will go back to Syracuse as a corresponding move.

Matz had a 3.86 ERA in 35 innings at the time of his injury. He has missed the last two weeks with nerve irritation in his forearm. Wilmer Font has filled in for Matz since he has been out.

Sewald threw two innings last night and gave up a run. He was up for one day and is heading back down – Or up technically since it’s Syracuse.
