UK weather – Britain set for washout week as rain forecast to continue through to Bank Holiday weekend
BRITS face a rather soggy week ahead with the rain continuing into the bank holiday weekend.
Mixed in with the showers though there will be some sunshine and temperatures could hit 21C.
Brits in the south will enjoy a few bright sunny spells on Sunday before scattered showers develop and there could be some thunder in places.
The Met Office forecast said: “Each day early mist and fog will clear readily in most areas leaving warm sunshine and showers, some heavy in places.
“More general rain likely in the north on Wednesday.
“This more changeable weather is expected to continue into the Bank Holiday weekend with all parts seeing rain or showers at times.”
Met Office forecaster Greg Dewhurst told The Sun Online: “Most parts will see scattered showers with some becoming heavy at times.
“Temperatures will be around 20-21C most of the time.
“Thursday could be a slightly colder due to more cloudy conditions although once again there will be some sunshine and outbreaks of showery rain.”

He added: “The weekend will be more unsettled compared to what we have seen.
“This is because the low pressure will be in charge, replacing the high pressure which has caused the warmer sunshine.”
High temperatures will stay at the May average of 15C (59F) in most of England, while the south could see above average highs of 21C (69.8F).
Friday and going into the Bank Holiday weekend the weather is expected to see more unsettled weather with showers and sunny spells for most parts.

This comes after a warm week of sunshine, which saw temperatures between the high teens and 20C (68F).
Meanwhile in southern and central England, Wales and Northern Ireland, a mixed bag of sunshine and showers on Saturday will be followed by possible thunder.
