Emmerdale stars Lucy Pargeter and Nicola Wheeler joke they’ll turn up to the Soap Awards NAKED as they back Doctors for the main prize
EMMERDALE stars Lucy Pargeter and Nicola Wheeler have joked that they’ll attend the British Soap Awards next month NAKED as they backed rival show Doctors to take home the top prize.
The stars of the small screen are set to gather for the 2019 British Soap Awards on June 1.
And the actors, who play Chas Dingle and Nicola King, made Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield laugh today when they appeared on This Morning and discussed their chances at the annual bash.
When fashionista Holly, 38, asked them if they’ve picked the dresses that they want to wear yet, Lucy, 42, piped up: “No idea, I’m going naked.”
And her co-star Nicola, 45, chimed: “Naked soap awards!”
BBC One soap Doctors have yet to win the award out of the current contenders Coronation Street, Emmerdale, EastEnders and Hollyoaks and during their chat, Nicola said she’d love to see them take home the Best Soap gong.
When asked who will take the prize from reigning champs Corrie, Nicola replied: “I think it’s Doctors’ turn personally.
“I think it’s time for Doctors to win being the underdog. And we win all the other awards!”
Sharon, who writes for Emmerdale, then joked that she’d have to kill off their characters next week after Nicola’s betrayal.
She said: “Ooh what do we do with that bus on the edge of the cliff that we’re going to storyline next week?”

Meanwhile, Emmerdale’s Dominic Brunt (Paddy Kirk) sported a huge pair of black glasses that left viewers amazined.
One said: “what’s with Dominiq Brunts glasses? He defo needs to go to spec savers. Love him to death but those glasses?????”
And actor Jeff hordley (Cain Dingle) shut down rumours that Moira and Cain could be on the brink of a split.
