Mother of the groom sparks fury after wearing a plunging white bridal gown to her son’s wedding

A MOTHER of a groom has sparked outrage after not only wearing white to her son’s wedding, but a full on bridal gown.

The bold woman has been slammed after a photo emerged of her being cheeky enough to show up on the special day in a dress rivalling the bride’s.

The blonde mother was pictured in a sparkly dress with a plunging neckline with the bridal party, and could easily have been mistaken for the bride.

The caption said: “Distant family’s wedding. Grooms mom just had to wear a bridal dress too.”

The divisive image was shared of the wedding guests on the That’s It, I’m Wedding Shaming Facebook group, and showed the bride wearing a remarkably similar gown herself.

The photos clearly sparked outrage, and numerous people were quick to comment how wrong it was for the mother of the groom.

One wrote: “If one didn’t have a bouquet I would think double wedding.”

Another added: “If you’re a guest at someone’s wedding and you wear anything that resembles a wedding gown, you’re an a**hole.”

Meanwhile, one Facebook user commented: “I’d have refused to have a photo with her, to be honest.”

But not everyone was so outraged, with one person replying: “I honestly don’t see the problem. It’s not like people don’t know who the bride is… Wouldn’t bother me what so ever.”

The poster didn’t reveal the bride’s reaction when she saw the extremely bold dress, but we can imagine she wasn’t best pleased.

It’s not the first time someone has shunned etiquette to wear white to a wedding.
