LaLiga giants to rival Napoli in shock move for Tottenham star

Atletico Madrid have reportedly targeted a shock move for Tottenham right-back Kieran Trippier as part of their summer defensive rebuild.

Radio Kiss Kiss reports that Atletico are ready to beat Serie A side Napoli to the signing of England international Trippier.

The 28-year-old’s form has dipped significantly after an impressive World Cup last summer and it’s reported that Spurs are willing to do business for the right price.

Tottenham have already been looking at alternative options to bring in this summer, with Serie Aurier also likely to depart – leaving Kyle Walker-Peters as potentially the only recognised right-back in the first-team squad.

Atletico’s need for new defensive recruits comes as they prepare to lose Lucas Hernandez, Diego Godin and Juanfran Torres, while Filipe Luis is also set to depart at the end of his contract and fellow full-back Santiago Arias has also been linked to a summer departure.
