BORUSSIA DORTMUND have acted quickly after Bayern pipped them to the Bundesliga title – by signing Hoffenheims Germany left-wing back Nico Schulz.
Dortmund chief Lucien Favre has instantly filled his problem position, landing the 26-year-old on a deal until 2024.
Former Borussia Mönchengladbach star Schulz netted twice and notched nine assists in 37 games across all competitions this season as Hoffenheim finished ninth.
And he is likely to oust Marcel Schmelzer, 31, from his regular starting role with Dortmund.
Schulz only made his full Germany debut last August but already has six caps and two international goals.
Bayern, though, are just as keen to strengthen their squad after only finishing two points clear.
Manchester City’s Germany winger Leroy Sane is a prime target after an in-and-out season for Pep Guardiola’s Trebel winners.
Etihad player of the season Bernardo Silva and record buy Riyad Mahrez, plus doubts over Sane’s attitude, mean the 23-year-old still has plenty to prove to Guardiola.

And now City are thought to be worried Sane has been unsettled by Bayern’s interest.
The German champs need to replace outgoing widemen Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery.
And their pursuit of Sane is another sign that their bid for Chelsea’s England winger Callum Hudson-Odoi, 18, is on the backburner.
