Coming back to your car to find a parking ticket is bad enough.

Imagine getting back after your shopping to discover a whole warm of bees had taken up home on the windscreen.

That’s what happened to someone who went to Asda in Hayle, Cornwall, when hundreds of bees settled on the back of a Honda SUV.

Shoppers fled in panic after seeing the mass of insects, which appeared to be lost.

They first landed on a Ford in the car park, then moved onto the second vehicle.

Luckily, a bee keeper happened to be in the supermarket at the time.

He returned in protective gear before getting bees into a box and transporting them to a hive somewhere.

One of the people who snapped the bees, Kerrie Williams, described being ‘flabbergasted’, saying: ‘I can’t believe what I saw.’

Bee expert Rick Cornwall said: ‘They are harmless and docile like that if left alone. If it’s your property they are resting on call a beekeeper or the council.

‘They are in the process of moving house and swarming is natural. It is also one of nature’s wonders like birds flocking.

‘Bees will only sting if angered and in defence of the hive – it’s fatal for the bee – so allow them to do their thing, keep calm and keep kids away.’
