Man found dead in McDonald’s toilet

Police are investigating the ‘sudden death’ of a man found in a McDonald’s toilet.

The pensioner was discovered at the restaurant this evening.

Emergency services tried to revive him but he was pronounced dead at the scene in Liverpool.

A McDonald’s spokesperson said: ‘Our Kensington restaurant remains closed following the sudden and tragic death of a male in the toilets earlier today.

‘Our restaurant team provided first aid whilst awaiting the ambulance team.

‘Our thoughts are with the individual’s loved ones and we are supporting the police with their enquiries and offering additional support to those employees involved today.’

Merseyside Police said: ‘We were called to a McDonald’s restaurant in Kensington this afternoon  following reports of a sudden death.

‘Police and the North West Ambulance Service attended the premises, on Kensington, at around 5.10pm where a man in his 70s was found to be unresponsive.

‘He was sadly pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene.

‘At this time officers are treating the death as unexplained.

‘Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of his death, and to formally identify the man and inform his next of kin.’
