STURGIS, S.D. (AP) — Never-before-seen crowds are expected to ride into the craggy, evergreen-dotted Black Hills of western South Dakota this week, all headed to the 75th Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
The rally is famous for bawdy behavior, with police busting hundreds each year for drunken driving and drugs, but authorities and bikers alike say there's no indication there will be violence like that seen this spring among outlaw clubs in Waco, Texas, where a shootout left nine people dead and twice as many injured. In 1989, Christina Applegate and Brad Pitt went to the MTV Movie Awards together - but they didn't leave together. Applegate famously ditched Pitt midway through the event and left with another guy. Who lured her away?
Andy Cohen confronted Applegate about the evening on Watch What Happens Live Sunday, during a round of "Plead the Fifth." Unfortunately for curious viewers, the Vacation star did just that, and refused to answer the question, even though she had already pleaded the fifth on an earlier query. Читать дальше...
Stephen Colbert has promised to have high-profile guests when he takes over as host of Late Show next month, and he's already getting a head start.
In one new promo for the Colbert-led Late Show, former presidential candidate Mitt Romney makes a cameo appearance. Of course, Colbert - in character as his dim-witted political pundit - has no idea it's really the former Massachusetts governor. "Wow, you do a great Mitt Romney," Colbert gushes.
In another promo, Colbert shows off a hot new back-to-school accessory: a Charlie Rose Trapper Keeper. Читать дальше...
It's the end of an era for Downton Abbey, both for the Crawleys and for the fans worldwide who've come to love them.
The British period drama won over viewers with its look at post-Edwardian England, when one's bloodline determined one's status, and the noble houses were run like clockwork by a fleet of dedicated servants. On Downton's upcoming sixth and final season, which premieres Jan. 3, that noble way of life is slowly but inexorably dying out.
"That was the trajectory of those houses," executive... Читать дальше...

The cast and creator of Amazon's Emmy-nominated Transparent gathered at the Television Critics Association fall previews, and debuted a first look at the show's upcoming season, which premieres on Dec. 4. Here's what we learned:
1. The show hired a trans writer and director. In Season 2, the show has to do less educating, and can instead "take the bubble wrap off...letting Maura be as fallible as her children," Soloway says. To that end, she hired Silas Howard, a trans director, and Our Lady J, a trans writer, to flesh out Maura's experiences. Читать дальше...

"I didn't know who Tenley was," J.J. said. "I asked her out because I just thought she was pretty and we had a lot in common with background and family and someone after says, 'You know, she's America's sweetheart. This is really good for you.' I was like, 'I don't even know who she is. I just think she's cool.' What a combination though! But Tenley is an amazing friend and it was fun to explore things for her."

Could the mystery of Castle's disappearance be adding another piece of the puzzle?
Castle's two-part premiere, beginning Sept. 21, has added another returning guest star: the suspicious and no-good William Bracken, played by Heroes Reborn actor Jack Coleman. Last we saw that senator who had ordered the hit on Beckett's mother's murder, he was humiliated publicly during one of his own press conferences. Now Bracken will "be back in a surprising way," co-showrunner Terence Paul Winter told TVLine.
