Massive French dining concept opens in San Francisco today
New York has Eataly. San Francisco’s own Chinatown has China Live. And today, two major concepts are opening inside an innovative, multi-level French dining bastion called ONE65.
Named for its location inside a restored Beaux Arts building at 165 O’Farrell Street in Union Square, ONE65, is the vision of Michelin-starred, James Beard award-winning French chef Claude Le Tohic and features six stories of innovative food and drink, each one celebrating French gastronomy in a unique way.
Located on the second and third floors, ONE65 Bistro & Grill opens today, along with Elements, a bar and lounge on the fourth floor. The bistro will serve contemporary French-Cali comfort food showcasing local and seasonal ingredients prepared minimally using the open kitchen’s Josper charcoal oven. ONE65 Bistro & Grill will be open for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., for dinner from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., and until 10 p.m. Friday-Saturdays.
Elements joins the city’s few upper floor bars, offering views as well as cocktails inspired by the four elements, fine wines and whiskies. A sleek wall of liquor lockers for members to store and showcase their prized bottles should make this bar a unique destination. Elements will be open from 11:30 a.m. to midnight daily. Both the Bistro and Elements will serve brunch 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m on weekends.
The new concepts join ONE65 Patisserie & Boutique, which opened last week on the street level and offers French casual dining and take-away, with breakfast, lunch and dinner options. Look for housemade pastries, breads, ice cream and chocolates, along with barista service and a selection of wines on tap. It is open Monday to Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday until 4 p.m.
The final concept, a fine dining restaurant located on the 5th and 6th floors, O’ by Claude Le Tohic, will open on June 6. For more information, visit https://one65sf.com.
