Eden Hazard should be allowed dream move to Real Madrid, says Chelsea icon Leboeuf
FRANK LEBOEUF says Chelsea chiefs should let Eden Hazard have his dream move to Real Madrid.
Belgian Hazard, 28, has 12 months left on his contract at Stamford Bridge but is desperate to switch to the Bernabeu this summer.
And if the Blues decide to cash in after Wednesday’s Europa League final against Arsenal, they could push the La Liga giants for a £100million fee.
Leboeuf, who had five years at Chelsea, says the playmaker should leave with the blessing of the club.
The 51-year-old told SunSport: “Eden has one year, so he has to go. The club have to think financially.
“They managed to keep him last year when it was almost sure he would go to Real Madrid, and he had a very good year.
“If you try to keep him, he won’t be as good as he was — because he will be unhappy to stay.
HAZARD A GUESS
“We have to wish him luck, thank him and find another fantastic player to replace him.”
There had been calls for Maurizio Sarri to face the axe after the final in Baku.
But Leboeuf says the Italian deserves more time after he secured a third-place Premier League finish.
He said: “If Sarri wins the Europa League and they have qualified for the Champions League, he should stay.
“You have to find that stability, like Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger, to win lots of trophies.”
Leboeuf will be hitting the big screen next week in the film I Love My Mum — his 12th acting gig.

He says he always wanted to be an actor more than a footballer but has no ambitions to win an Oscar.
He added: “I’ve always been against individual awards, the Balon d’Or for example. They are nonsense.”
I Love My Mum is released in UK cinemas on Friday.
