Man United launch £35m bid to make 22-year-old first summer signing – report
Manchester United have launched a £35m offer to sign Lyon striker Moussa Dembele, according to a report in France.
Website Goal France, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the Red Devils have formalised their interested in the 22-year-old striker.
The same article states that Manchester United’s offer is worth £35m as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to add more firepower to his attack.
According to the same story, club ambassador Eric Cantona has endorsed Manchester United’s bid to sign the France striker this summer.
Goal France go on to claim that Manchester United could fund their move for Dembele by selling flop Romelu Lukaku.
Inter Milan are looking to sign the Belgium international but the Serie A giants are still short of Manchester United’s £70m valuation, according to the report.
Manchester United finished the Premier League season in sixth place and a long way behind eventual champions Manchester City and runners up Liverpool FC.
The Red Devils ended a dismal campaign in fitting style following a 2-0 loss to relegated Cardiff City at Old Trafford on the final day of the season.
The 20-time English champions haven’t won the Premier League title since 2013, when Sir Alex Ferguson was still in charge of the Red Devils.
