Bay Point to host Memorial Day parade and event

The town of Bay Point will host its 12th annual Memorial Day event, which will include a commemorative service, a Spring Derby Parade and a festival at Ambrose Community Center, 3105 Willow Pass Road.

The event begins with a 9 a.m. Memorial Day observance with local and state dignitaries providing tribute to the women and men who served during war and peace. Following the service, the parade begins at 10 a.m. from Marin Avenue and ends at Clearland Drive. Entrants include  the Riverview Middle School band, classic cars, cowboys on horseback, Ballet Folklorico, baton twirlers, a clown, dancers, and many more.

After the parade, the festival will be held at the side lawn and patio area of Ambrose Center where vendors will be set up and food available. The entertainment will include music and a free raffle. For those who need more outdoor space, the back playing field is an area for guests to play sports, such as soccer and/or baseball.

The free, family-oriented event is sponsored by Bay Point Community All-N-One, the Ambrose Recreation and Park District.
