Wildlife lover fined £150 for ‘littering’ after feeding bread to pigeons
A WILDLIFE lover was fined £150 for littering by a council after feeding bread to birds in a park.
Mum-of-two Beshley Blowes, 57, was seen by a warden throwing tiny bits of bread to starlings and pigeons.

She was given a £150 fine by a community protection officer who claimed she was guilty of littering because the birds had not eaten every crumb.
Charity worker Beshley said: “It’s disgusting. The bread was gone in about five seconds. I’ve fed leftover bread to the birds in the park for years.”
Social media users also blasted the council’s heavy-handed approach at the park in Ponders End, North London.

One said: “Where are these waste of space people when rubbish is tossed out of a moving car on to the pavement outside my house?”
Enfield council defended the fixed penalty fine.
It said: “Discarded food and containers account for a significant proportion of litter.”
