U'khand: DM shuts ‘period hut’ built with govt funds
The matter came to light after Ramesh Chandra Joshi, a resident of Ghurchum village in Champawat, filed a complaint with the district magistrate on Monday that a hut built in their village using government funds was being used to keep menstruating women in an isolated space. The village has a population of 450 people, half of them women. The ‘period hut’ for women was set up in 2017.
