VP Chiwenga extends olive branch to Church

Guvamombe further remanded

Suspended chief magistrate Mishrod Guvamombe, who is facing criminal abuse of office charges, was yesterday further remanded to February 28. Guvamombe appeared before magistrate Mrs Rumbidzai Mugwagwa for routine remand. This was after prosecutor Mr Shepherd Makonde successfully sought for a postponement of the matter on the basis that there were some investigations which were still being conducted.

President Mnangagwa yesterday paid his condolences to the Rushwaya family following the death of Gogo Mary Rushwaya. Gogo Rushwaya, mother to Defence Secretary Mr Martin Rushwaya, died at the Avenues Clinic in Harare yesterday. She was 72. President Mnangagwa was accompanied by his two Vice Presidents — Constantino Chiwenga and Kembo Mohadi — Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Dr Misheck Sibanda, service chiefs and other high-ranking Government officials.

J-K encounter: 2 terrorist neutralised

Two terrorists have been killed in an encounter with security forces on the outskirts of Srinagar on Saturday morning.The joint operation currently underway is being carried out by 50 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Srinagar Police at the encounter site in Konmoh area here .The encounter comes on the day when India is celebrating its 70th Republic Day.
