Suspected Maoists torch Telangana bus, passengers unharmed

Suspected CPI (Maoists) ultras torched a Telangana State Road Transport Corporation bus at Sarivela village after asking the passengers to alight, the police said Wednesday. The incident occurred at the Andhra Pradesh-Telangana-Chhattisgarh tri-junction late Tuesday night, they said. "The front portion of the bus was partly damaged in the incident. None of the passengers or crew was harmed," Superintendent of Police Vishal Gunni said. As 'Maoist Week' was being observed now, vigil in the region has been stepped up, the SP added. Over 17,000 banned for life from driving in China for traffic violations in 2018

China banned 17,264 people from driving for life in 2018 for various serious traffic violations including drunken driving and hit and run cases. Among them, a total of 5,149 were caught drunk driving in serious traffic accidents and faced criminal prosecution, state-run Xinhua news agency reported, quoting a statement from the Ministry of Public Security as saying. JSW Energy climbs nearly 6% on Q3 earnings

Shares of JSW Energy jumped nearly 6 per cent on Wednesday after the company reported a threefold jump in its consolidated net profit to Rs 147.08 crore for the December 2018 quarter. The company's stock on the BSE gained 5.68 per cent to close at Rs 67.90. Intra-day, it rallied 8.87 per cent to Rs 69.95.
