Is Everybody Happy?
The scientists, it would seem, have finally got on to something really big, something which has baffled philosophers for centuries. Whereas we have been brought up on the old saw that money won’t buy happiness, a study conducted by the US Public Health Service would seem to indicate the contrary. The findings were substantiated by a survey of a random sample of some 1,400 Puerto Ricans who were interviewed on the island during a six-month period in 1963-1964.
