A BJP delegation led by Union minister Vijay Goel met the Chief Election Commissioner on Friday and requested him to issue clarification on "bogus claims" by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) that names of 30 lakh voters in Delhi were deleted from electoral roll. Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Friday expressed condolences over the deaths of several people by consuming spurious liquor in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. "It is very unfortunate. Girl's head gets stuck between pillars; child freed after 1 hr

: In a freak incident, a two-year-old girl child's head got stuck between steel pillars at a railway station while playing and these had to be cut with a welding machine to free her, police said Friday. Justice Pramath Patnaik was Friday sworn in as a judge of the Orissa High Court. Chief Justice K S Jhaveri administered the oath of office to Justice Patnaik, who was repatriated here to his parent high court from the Jharkhand High Court. Justice Patnaik was first made an additional judge of the Orissa High Court in September 2014. In December the same year, he was transferred to the Jharkhand High Court, where he was working as a permanent judge until his repatriation was recommended by the Supreme Court collegium earlier this year.
